Our Assessment: The Beretta Model M9-92FS US Armed Forces Limited Edition SPEC0239A is a commemorative version of the standard-issue sidearm adopted by the U.S. military in 1985. Based on the 92FS design, the pistol retains its 4.9″ barrel, open-slide design, and double/single-action system chambered in 9mm.
This particular example is accompanied by the issued-style belt, magazine pouch, and holster, reflecting the complete package of what a U.S. servicemember would have been equipped with when carrying the M9. Together, this presentation elevates the pistol from a standard firearm into a collectible set that connects civilian ownership to military history. As the M9 has now been retired from active service in favor of the SIG M17 and M18, these limited editions serve as both a tribute and a tangible time capsule of the decades during which the Beretta M9 was the official sidearm of the U.S. Armed Forces.
