Markings: The lower tang is marked “Beretta 687 EELL MADE IN ITALY PATENTED Nuovo Cesello” with a beautiful grouse. The left side “BERETTA MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN”. The right side has “BERETTA” and the second amendment. The tang lever “45”. The left side of the upper barrel “20 GA 3”-76-29 1/2″ BERETTA-GARDONE VT-MADE IN ITALY”. The right side of the barrel “WARNING READ MANUAL BEFORE USE BERETTA USA CORP ACKK. MD EXCELSIOR H.S.A. STEEL”. The upper tang “2AM0020B 687 CLASSIC”. The barrel is serial matching to the receiver.
Barrel Length: 29.5”
Choke: The barrels are threaded for Beretta MOBIL chokes currently installed FULL over MODified, also includes Improved Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Cylinder.
Sights / Optics: The barrel has a small brass bead mounted to the front of the rib. The rib is finely checkered for the purpose of reducing glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two-piece checkered select High Grade walnut with a traditional rounded Lightning Style forend and a Prince of Wales grip, fluted straight comb, thin wrist stock with a wooden butt plate. The length of pull is 14.5” the cast is Neutral and the shotgun weighs 6lbs 3OZ. The drop at comb is 1.5” and the drop at heel is 2”. The wood shows minor handling with no notable marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall the wood is in Like New condition.
Type of Finish: Blued and coin.
Finish Originality: Original.
Bore Condition: The bores are mirror bright. There is no erosion in the bores. This shotgun appears unfired outside of factory testing. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 10/10.
Overall Condition: Like New in Box.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The action locks up tight with no play. The safety does set automatically and functions properly when set manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun includes the chokes as mentioned above with three tubes, choke wrench, oil, thick butt pad, manual, paperwork, sling studs, gun socks, box and custom Beretta case with American flag interior.
Our Assessment: This 2017 Beretta 687 Classic EELL 29.5″ 20-gauge Over/Under 2A MAGA edition is a truly a spectacular shotgun, very classy and made the old-world way in Italy. It wears high-grade lightning-style furniture with an elegant Prince-of-Wales stock that fits the shoulder like a glove! The receiver is lavishly engraved with bold patriotic motifs like my favorite slogan “Make America Great Again” it just rolls off the tongue. There’s even eagles, and frankly my favorite, it’s the best really, the Second Amendment rendered in flowing script. Even the tang lever is engraved with the best number, number “45,” a nice finishing touch that ties the whole theme together. This is bespoke Italian workmanship people, fine metalwork, deep engraving, perfect wood-to-metal fit, this is the kind of shotgun that looks tremendous on a mantle or in a private cabinet: luxurious, unmistakable, and made to be admired.
But it’s not just show, this 687 Classic EELL is built to perform, just like me! The 29.5″ barrels give a perfect sighting plane and promote a smooth swing for clays or hunting. The balance through the hands is superb, the handling is precise and confidence-inspiring. As a themed presentation piece it’s unique, a real collectors’ example that marries top-tier Beretta fit and finish with my strong American political iconography; it will stand out in any collection and make a powerful statement about craftsmanship and conviction. Put simply a beautiful Italian build, unmistakably patriotic styling, and a presence that’s impossible to ignore, and I would know. Thank you for your attention to this matter…DJT…Just Kidding!!!
