Markings: The top front of the receiver is marked “U.S. CARBINE / CAL. .30 M1.” and the top rear is marked “AUTO-ORDNANCE / WORCESTER, MA”. The op rod is marked with a “circle” containing “stars / eagle / anchor” and “US MARINE CORPS COMMEMORATIVE M1 CARBINE”. The medallion on the right side of the butt contains “U.S. MARINE CORPS / SEMPER FIDELIS / anchor globe eagle / STARS / 10 NOVEMBER 1775”. The bottom of the trigger guide is marked “USMC053”.
Barrel Length: Approximately 18 Inches
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a post set between two protective wings. The rear sight is a Type II style adjustable aperture.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The wood stock has a pistol grip, Type III barrel band with sling loop & bayonet lug, sling well, sling pass through, and a metal buttplate. The stock shows scrapes and scratches. Many have dulled or damaged the gloss finish. The LOP measures 13 ¼ inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good Plus overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright; semi bright at the muzzle. There is some fouling near the muzzle. There is no erosion. The bore shows an M.E. of -1.5 (negative 1.5).
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The metal shows scuffs and a few small scrapes. The bottom of the trigger guard shows discoloration. Most of the markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle comes with a 10 round magazine. It shows scrapes & scuffs. It is in about Very Good Plus condition.
Our Assessment: This Auto-Ordnance M1 Carbine is a Marine Corps Commemorative. It is marked with the Marine Corps emblem, slogan and birthdate. It looks good and has a strong bright bore. We do not know if it was originally shipped from the factory in this configuration as the number on the trigger guard does not correlate to the serial number. The trigger group may be a replacement.
