Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “” The top of the barrel is marked “45-70 GOVT,” and the right flat is marked “ARMSPORT – MADE IN ITALY.” The serial number “38239” is marked on the top tang.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a v-notch leaf dovetailed to the barrel. The top of the barrel is mounted a long Malcolm-style 3x scope with external micrometer adjustment turrets and crosshair reticle. The scope is in excellent condition with clear glass.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The rifle is equipped with a two-piece hardwood stock featuring a straight grip, straight comb, and smooth forend. The wood has a deep satin finish and shows only minor handling marks. There are no chips, cracks, or losses. The LOP measures 14″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the curved steel buttplate. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows only light operational wear on the lever and a few faint handling marks on the barrel flats. There is light oxidation on the barrel. The case colors are vivid and strong. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are unmarred. The markings are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The falling block locks up tightly. The trigger breaks cleanly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
