Markings: Top of the receiver is marked “ALTERATIONS TO THIS FIREARM ARE UNSAFE AND ILLEGAL READ MANUAL BEFORE OPERATING”. Left side of the receiver is marked “UZI semi-auto MODEL A 9mm PARA IMI-ISRAEL” with the “S” and “F” for Safe and Fire near the safety selector. The right side of the receiver is marked “ACTION ARMS, LTD Phila, Pa. SA 01259”. The bottom of the receiver is marked “12”. 

Barrel Length: 16” functional barrel with heat shroud also includes 3.5” non functional display barrel.   

Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post and the rear sight is L-type flip aperture with markings for 100m and 200m.  

Stock Configuration & Condition: The metal receivers and synthetic pistol grip and foreguard show very little wear. The folding steel buttstock and safeties all function correctly. Two sling mounts are located on the left side of the receiver and stock. The LOP measures 8.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the folded buttstock or 15.5” from the trigger to the back of the unfolded buttstock. The furniture rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle includes Two 25rd and One 32rd 9mm magazines in Excellent Condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is mirror bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is light fouling in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10. 

Overall Condition: This rifle retains 97% of its original finish. There are light handling marks. There are light white scuffs on the barrel under the heat shroud. Overall this rifle is in Excellent condition. 

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle includes the three magazines, sling, functional 16” barrel with heat shroud, display barrel, factory box, sight adjustment tool, manual and paperwork.      

Our Assessment: Manufactured by Israel Military Industries and imported by Action Arms Ltd. during the 1980 to 1989 pre-ban era, the Uzi Model A represents one of the most sought-after civilian configurations of the original Israeli submachine gun platform. This semi-automatic rifle preserves the classic stamped receiver profile, top-mounted charging handle, and folding steel buttstock that defined the Uzi’s global reputation for durability and compact efficiency. The 16 inch functional barrel with heat shroud maintains the traditional appearance while complying with import requirements of the period.

Chambered in 9mm Parabellum, this rifle retains approximately 97 percent of its original parkerized black finish. There are light handling marks and minor white scuffs visible on the barrel beneath the heat shroud. The bore is mirror bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, showing only light fouling and rating 9 out of 10. The adjustable front sight post and L-type flip rear aperture marked for 100 and 200 meters remain intact and correct. The synthetic pistol grip and foreguard show very little wear, and the folding steel buttstock locks securely in both open and folded positions. Length of pull measures 15.5 inches extended and 8.5 inches folded. Furniture overall rates in Excellent condition.

Mechanically, the action functions correctly and the manual safety operates as intended. The rifle includes two 25 round and one 32 round 9mm magazines in Excellent condition, along with the original factory box, sling, sight adjustment tool, manual, paperwork, the 16 inch functional barrel with heat shroud, and a 3.5 inch non-functional display barrel. As a pre-ban IMI import from the Action Arms era, this Uzi Model A stands as a highly collectible example of Israeli manufacture with strong original finish and desirable accessories.
