Bore Condition: The chrome-lined bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The balance is in very light use wear on the barrel, a few scattered light scuffs on the flats of the slide which do not go through the finish and general very light handling marks. The grip screws, front and backstrap serrations are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun is in about Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide-mounted safety also functions as a decocker. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The gun is housed in a Factory Berretta plastic box and cardboard sleeve with serial matching end-label. The plastic box has no notable wear and is in Excellent condition. The cardboard sleeve has scattered scuffs and scrapes with worn corners and is in about Fine condition. Also included is a manual for the pistol. Please note, this pistol does not come with a magazine.
Our Assessment: Though it is being replaced currently, the M9 has served the US Armed Forces for over 30 years. This example has a couple of interesting features which differentiate it from our previous service pistol. This pistol is the “Brigadier” version with a beefed-up slide, adding a little more mass to help keep the muzzle down and adding strength to the slide and it has been fitted with Trijicon night sights, though the tritium lamps for the sights have dimmed significantly. This pistol is in Fine-plus condition, comes with its original box and manual and will serve a collector or shooter equally well. Please see our photos and good luck!
