The pin heads have some finish loss but are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Very Good condition.
Slide Assembly: This slide assembly retains about 96% of its metal finish. There is light thinning at most edges. There is operational wear on the slide and barrel shroud. There is light wear on the bottom of the front sight where it hangs past the muzzle. There are a few scattered light marks. Overall, this slide assembly is in about Very Good-Fine condition as customized.
Mechanics: The actions function correctly. The trigger is crisp. Neither barrel has any play to its shroud. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: In addition to the Slide Assembly described, this pistol comes with a single 10-round magazine marked “1” in white paint on each side with light operational wear, a strong spring and intact feed lips, in about Very Good-plus condition.
Our Assessment: This is an interesting little pistol. Kart Sporting Arms made .22 conversion kits for 1911s (and still makes custom match barrels). Unlike the Colt Conversion Units, Kart’s kits would render the barrel “fixed”, not moving when the slide did. This pistol has an installed slide assembly which appears to be one of their later units, marked with their own information, and comes with another slide assembly which appears to be one of their earlier kits, made from a Colt Conversion Unit. With the barrel held in place and the nice target sights, this promises to be a very accurate plinker, especially the converted Colt Unit with its longer barrel and significantly longer sight radius. Please see our photos and good luck!
