Sights / Optics: Each barrel set has a brass bead at the front of its vent-rib and each rib is finely checkered on top to reduce glare. The 20 & 28 gauge barrel sets each have a smaller silver-colored mid-bead, the 36 gauge (.410) does not have a mid-bead.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered walnut with rounded-bottom pistol grip, straight comb, solid black rubber Decelerator buttpad with schnabel forend tip and inlaid black diamond with smooth border in the center of the checkering on the bottom of each forend. Each forend has a couple of isolated individual damaged checkers and light handling marks. The buttstock has a few light compressions and drag lines scattered along the toe-line and comb, some very light scuffing on the sides and a few scattered isolated damaged checkers. The checkering is generally sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad, 13 3/4″ to the back of the wood. Drop at comb measures 1 3/8″, drop at heel 2 1/8″ and these drops are consistent across each barrel set. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine condition.

Type of Finish: Blue & Case-Color

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores. The 20 gauge barrel set has porting at the front of the barrels on each side.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains approximately 96% of its metal finish. The 20 gauge barrel set has some very light wear scattered along the sides of the barrels, mostly toward the front. The 28 gauge barrel set has a small mark on the bottom-left of the bottom barrel just forward of the forend. Each barrel set has light wear from the forends, concealed when installed. There are light handling marks in the barrels and receiver. The trigger guard has a few light marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun set is in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors on all barrel sets. The trigger is selected with a switch on the safety slider, with one dot showing the bottom barrel fires first, with two dots showing the top barrel fires first. The safety does not automatically engage when the action is opened. The action locks up tight with no play with the 20 and 36 gauge (.410) barrel sets. The 28 gauge barrel set has barely perceptible play to the action. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a green hard-sided Protecto Kaddy case with foam lining, two Briley choke cases holding the additional chokes and choke wrenches for each gauge. The case has light wear and discoloration from oil on the interior with light scuffing and scrapes on the exterior, in about Very Good-plus condition. The chokes all have good threads with no notable damage, but could use a good cleaning.

Our Assessment: This Rizzini Aurum Classic 3 gauge set is a great example of quality Italian shotguns. From the beautiful case-colored action to its solid lockup despite the 36 gauge (.410) barrel set being made two years after the 20 gauge and the 28 gauge barrel set being from a different gun entirely, this is a shotgun that will turn some heads at the range with performance to match its looks. The shotgun is in about Fine condition with only light wear, bright bores and strong mechanics. Perfect for challenging yourself on the skeet range, hunting and other clay sports with the wide variety of chokes included, this is a shotgun that can do it all. If you’ve been looking for a nice sporting or hunting shotgun and want to have something that gives you some options, this is the one. Please see our photos and good luck!

CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This shotgun can be transferred in California.
