Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “45 ACP”. The right side of the slide is marked “BAER / Custom”. The top of the barrel is marked “BAER 45 MATCH”. The right side of the frame is marked “LES BAER CUSTOM / LE CLAIRE IA USA / LB29386”.

Sights / Optics: Front and rear sights are Trijicon marked Baer deluxe fixed combat rear sight with night sight and Baer dovetail front sight  with night sight. The lamps have dimmed significantly but are still useful as traditional 3-dot sights and in very low-no light environments.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered G10 panels with no notable wear or damage. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering sharp. Overall, the grips are in about Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The slide has light operational wear on the right forward of the dust cover, a couple of light scuffs on the top and a small mark on the right flat forward of the front serrations. The barrel shows light-moderate operational wear. The screw heads are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. Extremely tight slide to frame fit. The barrel has no play when in battery. The trigger is very crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The gun comes in a brown cardboard box with serial-matching label with an assortment of factory paperwork including manual and a total of two 8-round stainless Les Baer magazines. The magazines are in Excellent condition.

With factory features like extended thumb-safety, extended beavertail grip safety, night sights, skeletonized hammer, and front slide serrations, this handgun is equipped with everything one could want from one of the best custom 1911s available. Extended floorplate magazines, frontstrap stippling, stippled mainspring housing, and aggressively checkered grips promise a comfortable and stable grip. Chambered for the classic .45 ACP cartridge and with the 5″ Government length barrel, this pistol will make a fantastic shooter, carry, or even competition firearm.
