Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “Anschutz-Modell Match 54 / Cal. 22 long rifle”, the left side of the barrel at the receiver is marked with an “Eagle / N” nitro proof, a “67” date code and an Ulm antler proof. The left side of the receiver is marked with “Eagle / N”, “648794” and “Made by J. G. Anschutz GmbH. Waffenfabrik Ulm/D. West Germany”. The top of the receiver’s chamber ring is marked and “ANSCHUTZ” logo.
Barrel Length: The heavy target grade barrel is 27” long and has a recessed target crown. There is a slight barrel band at the muzzle, and the band measures 0.961“, while the barrel just behind it measures 0.942“ in diameter.
Sights / Optics: There are three male dovetails mounted on the top of the barrel with rings on the rear two holding an R.A. Litschert Spot-Shot 10 power scope. The scope has a fine crosshair reticle with fairly clear glass, the body has some scattered light marks at and behind the rear ring, in about Very Good condition. The top of the receiver is grooved for a scope mount.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one-piece walnut target stock with texturing on the bottom of the forend and in the pistol grip. The buttstock has a full pistol grip with palm swell, a palm heel cut-out on the right side that is deeply arched at the top for the thumb, Monte Carlo comb, cheekpiece, and a black plastic checkered buttplate that is adjustable for height. The forend has a 15” long grooved alloy accessory rail inlet into it that has a black plastic strip slid into it and a hand-stop/sling mount. Please see our pictures for a better description. The stock has only a few scattered light compressions. The LOP measures 12 5/8” from the front face of the trigger to the rear edge of the buttplate. The buttplate shows little to no wear, in about Excellent condition. The stock is in about Fine condition, overall.
Type of Finish: The barrel, receiver and bolt are blued. The trigger guard has a matte gray checkered finish and the accessory rail is unfinished alloy.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The barrel has a few light makrs on the bottom forward of the forend and the bolt has light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger has a very smooth takeup with an extremely light, crisp break. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is an Anschutz Model Match 54 single shot bolt action rifle intended for target shooting. The rifle features an Anschutz action, a target grade barrel, and a heavy walnut stock with a vertical pistol grip and cheekpiece. The underside of the forend is inletted for a long accessory rail which has a hand-stop/sling swivel. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. The rifle is topped with a vintage Litschert Spot-Shot scope. Despite the vintage of both the scope and the rifle, they’ll likely stack up well against any rimfire target gun made today.
