Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “PERFORMANCE CENTER”. The yoke cut is marked “627-3” and the yoke is marked “257”. The left side of the frame is marked with a S&W Performance Center logo. The left side of the grip frame is marked “A7” and the underside of the grip frame is marked “JCM0126”. The right side of the grip frame is marked “24533 257” and the right side of the frame has the four line “Marcas Registradas” address. The right side of the barrel is marked “.357 MAG – V8”.

Sights / Optics: This revolver is mounted with an undercut patridge front sight set in a dovetail. There is a square notch S&W micrometer click adjustable rear sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are pebbled black rubber finger groove Hogue Mono-grips with Hogue logos. There are no notable scratches, chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Fine overall condition. There is also a smooth Hogue “Miculek” style wooden mono grip provided. There is a small chip (less than 1/8”) missing from the top rear on the left side of this grip.

Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are drag marks on the cylinder and an abrasion in the finish between one set of cylinder flutes. There are some small marks on the left side of the frame and the right side plate just above the grips and also a less than ¼” scratch below the screw that retains the yoke. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in about Fine to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly both single and double action. There is a Performance Center installed trigger stop and tuned action. The double action trigger pull is particularly smooth and light, measuring just over 6 lbs. The cylinder is factory relieved for 8 shot full moon clips (not provided), and also will function correctly without their use. The Performance Center “V” Comp is removable by means of a hex wrench (not provided). The top strap is factory drilled and tapped to mount optics, once the rear sight is removed. This is a round butt “N” frame revolver.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: There is a second grip provided, in addition to the mounted rubber Hogue mono-grip. It is a smooth Hogue “Miculek” style wooden mono as described above.
Our Assessment: This S&W Performance Center revolver is one of the hot set-ups for revolver competition for the International Congress of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE). Already finely tuned, this revolver is ready right now.
