The frontstrap is marked with a nitro proof and “S 232 525”.

Type of Finish: Satin Stainless Steel

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance is in very light handling marks and very light operational wear on the frame from the decocker lever. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a blue plastic carry case marked “SiGARMS / LAW ENFORCEMENT” and with end labels which correctly describe this pistol, including serial number. Inside the case is the owner’s manual, an application for Sigarms Academy, a wraparound Sig sticker for retail display, a trigger lock still in packaging and a spare magazine still in packaging. The packaging for the spare magazine is open-ended, but the magazine appears unused, in Excellent condition. The case has some scuffs and scrapes on the exterior but the interior shows only minor compression from its contents. Overall, the case is in Fine-plus condition. The magazine installed in the pistol shows only light wear from insertion/removal and is in Excellent condition. Both magazines are 7-round, nickel plated, marked “SIG SAUER” on the left side.

Our Assessment: The Sig Sauer P232 is a small stainless steel double action pistol similar to a Walther PPK. One of the nice design differences is that you do not have to pull down the trigger guard for disassembly, simply pull down the takedown lever on the left side of the frame, pull the slide to the rear and up and then slide it off the frame-mounted barrel. This fixed barrel design gives excellent accuracy for such a small pistol and makes for a very simple, reliable design. This will make a nice carry gun that is small and light, but big enough to easily get a full grip. This pistol is in Excellent condition, is equipped with two magazines and comes with most everything it did when it was first purchased. With modern advances in projectile design and load consistency, .380 is now a very suitable cartridge for self-defense and is fairly inexpensive and widely available. As great as this pistol is for concealed carry and self defense, its high condition coupled with the fact that Sig Sauer has discontinued this model will likely get a number of collectors interested as well. Please see our photos and good luck!
