The case coloring is highly vivid and without notable marks. The rifle looks to have been used infrequently, if at all outside of the factory. The metal to metal fit is superb with masterful craftsmanship evident. The screw heads are sharp and appear un-turned. The markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The rifle has a BS1 falling block receiver with internal hammer, modeled after the Westley Richards 1897 action. The trigger consistently pulled at 5lbs 4oz with no creep. The rifle is the higher grade take-down type with only light scuff wear on the joining components, covered with the rifle assembled. There is zero play in any of the components, this is one well made rifle! We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Currently located in Boron, California, just north of Edwards Air Force Base in upper Southern California, Butch Searcy and his crew create nothing less than phenomenal product in the form mainly of double rifles and single shot target rifles. This is the Stalking model with exhibition grade European walnut stocks, charming case colored items and a rich, blue barrel with ¼ rib. This item looks to have seen little use, if any outside of the factory and grabs the eye immediately. With its hearty .375 H&H Magnum cartridge, you can take anything in North America and challenge dangerous game in Africa. If you need a safari rifle, this is it.
