Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are walnut with checkering at the wrist and sides of the forend. There are cuts to the stocks for appearance, one in the comb and another near the tip of the forend. The stocks are free of chips and cracks. The checkering is factory sharp with the lightest indication of handling and use. There are a few light dings in the top behind the wrist, but honestly most will go unnoticed and most sellers would not even mention. There gun, in our opinion, has not been used much and well taken care of. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber recoil pad that is still soft and supple. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.
Type of Finish: Blue barrel and grey receiver with gold details.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows the lightest handling from use, assembly, and disassembly. Most of the wear is hidden when the gun is assembled. There face of the receiver has the lightest marks from recoil. We don’t think this gun has been used much, well cared for and cleaned. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The gun is housed in a branded Browning hard case that has fitted inserts for the gun and barrel. There are chokes as described above, wrench, and instructions to set the lock on the case (which still has the red factory tags installed.
Our Assessment: This is a beautifully styled shotgun. It is like holding a beautiful women to your face. The soft rubber recoil pad should make for a comfortable shooting experience, and the neutral stock and grip should be comfortable for most shooters, right or left handed. The ability to change chokes on a compact 26” barrel set gives you the versatility to tackle just about any shooting sport. Weighing in at 6lbs 11.3 pounces won’t leave you exhausted after a day of holding it on your shoulder either.
