Our Assessment: When Smith & Wesson say “Deluxe” they are not joking. This is a beautiful gun that does not appear to have been fired much beyond the factory test firing. The test target included is evidence of the 1 1/2″ group at 50 yards. In fact, under the rear sight, the top strap is already drilled and tapped for the installation of a scope mount (not included) that would make this one hell of an all-weather hunting pistol. We like the look of the wood grips, although the rubber is more practical for shooting. Same goes for the front sight, the red ramp is more practical, but the gold dot is …. a gold dot… so why not style it up a bit. This is a Deluxe pistol.
