Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “Colt AnACONDA / 44 MAGNUM”. The right side of the barrel is marked “DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER / COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” The crane cut and crane are marked “MM40741”. The left side of the frame is marked with a Rampant Colt logo. The front top left side of the trigger guard is marked with the Verified Proof.
Barrel Length: 8″
Sights / Optics: There is a blade front sight with an orange insert. The rear sight is adjustable square notch with a white outline pinned to the top strap. There is a Burris Scope base and rings. There is a Leupold M78-2X Extended Eye Relief Scope with a duplex crosshair currently mounted. The lens is free of scratches and flaws.
Stock Configuration & Condition: There is a set of wood grips in the case. The wood grips are in Excellent condition and we would not be surprised to learn that they have never been installed on the gun. The grips currently on the pistol are rubber finger groove with colt medallions. The checkering to the rubber grips is still in great condition. The gun has been handled very little and the grips exhibit that. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The gun does not appear to have been used much if at all. The gun was test fired at the factory, no gun is ever “unfired” in our opinion. This one has seen very little use, and if the owner ever shot it I would be surprised. The gun was likely shot to zero the scope though we did not shoot it to verify this, just our assumption and opinion about the amount of use the gun has seen. There is a faint mark on the cylinder from normal operation and clearing. There are faint scratches on the surface from buffing and cleaning. The screw heads are Sharp. The markings are Clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The revolver comes in an Americase airline approved travel case. The keys are in the case and the combination lock has never been changed from the factory “000” default. There is an assortment of paperwork from Colt, Leupold, and Americase. Please see the pictures for the accessories included and condition.
Our Assessment: Colt introduced the Anaconda built on a new, heavy “AA” frame to compete with the Ruger Redhawk and S&W Model 29 revolvers. Our impression is that this revolver probably offers a smoother double action pull than the Ruger and is more rugged than the S&W. This revolver is great for hunting using .44 Magnum cartridges and with .44 Special for casual days at the range. This pistol comes with an Americase and Scope currently installed. In our opinion, this would be a great Hunting companion for the “Bling”, “Road”, or “LA” hunter. We all know who we are talking about, definitely flashy, not hiding in the brush. You don’t need to even wear camo or step more than a few feet off the road to get your kill. This is the gun. A great addition to any hunting picture.
