Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The cylinder has a faint drag line. There is a scratch on the left side of the barrel near the muzzle. The markings are crisp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition. Some pictures may have what appear to be a “patchy” finish, this is some of the grease on the finish, it reflects the light differently than the dry finish. This is out of the same collection as the Trooper .357 we have at auction as well that is zip tied and greased. This gun is in similar shape without the zip tie.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is the revolver’s serialized factory cardboard outer sleeve box, showing some roughing at the edges from storage and some tears. There is oil staining. some of the factory paperwork are included as photoed. The hang tag is present.

Our Assessment: I would normally say: a lot of guns come through this shop, but few look this good with a box as torn up, but now I would be lying. This is one of the last Troopers to come through the shop from a great collection, we hope that the colt collectors have filled in the empty spaces. The gun is in excellent condition, there is a scratch on the left side of the barrel, likely from storage outside the factory box. The box looks like it has been through a battlefield, while the gun appears lightly used and well cared for. The dragline is visible in the finish but has not worn through it. Our guess is that when this gun was bought the excitement of the purchase was too overwhelming to contain and the box was torn open to get to the gun.

CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This handgun CANNOT be transferred as a dealer sale in California. This handgun CAN be sold as a Private Party Transfer (PPT) at our Simi Valley shop.
