Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “TROOPER MK III / * .22 MAGNUM R.F. * “, the right is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” The crane and cut are marked with the serial number, the left side plate has a Rampant Colt logo. The front left of the trigger guard bow has the “VP” in triangle proof.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp blade, pinned onto the rib. The rear sight is a flat top, a square notched leaf in a base that is adjustable for windage and elevation.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are rubber Pachmayer Presentation grips with Colt medallions. There is no damage to speak of and only the slightest signs of light handling. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The cylinder has a notable drag line on the cylinder and some light scuffs to the exterior. The face of the cylinder has some powder burn rings and a little to the top strap as well. There are a few light scratches on the barrel. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The handgun functions correctly, We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a Colt cardboard outer sleeve box, showing rough condition and losses of end flaps, we do not have the end label for the box that describes the gun shipped in the box. The box is in POOR condition. Also included are the two foam inner halves, showing some compression and light oil staining. The paperwork is attached to the foam, the plastic baggy is opened at one end. Please see our pictures.
Our Assessment: We get quite a few colts in this shop, but rarely see an 8″ eNickel revolver. The box looks like it has been through a battlefield, missing the end label. The gun has been Moderately used judging by the dragline in the finish. Our guess is that when this gun was bought the excitement of the purchase was too overwhelming to contain and the box was torn open to get to the gun. The gun was well enjoyed and taken care of. The box, though torn and tattered, was set aside, just in case it was ever needed…
