Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are factory finished and checkered. Sling swivels are installed. The varnish has thinned a bit, though the checkering remains quite pronounced. there is varnish over the checkering. There are scattered dings and marks, but no splits or cracks. The finish appears original, and the wood to metal fit is exceptional and even proud. The LOP measures about 13 1/4″. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no evidence of pitting or erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are small patches of thinning on the barrel, apparently from rack storage. The flats of the receiver show slight surface scratching – though this is not through the finish. The frame edges show some very light wear. This rifle retains the vast majority of its original finish, with little evidence of storage wear or use. The Screw heads are sharp, with just a bit of wear. The markings are crisp. Overall, this gun rates in about Fine – Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions as designed and feels very tight but we have not test fired this rifle.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None
Our Assessment: This gun resembles the Winchester 1894, and is yet one more of the long line of successful Browning designed lever action rifles produced by Winchester. More North American game has probably been taken with a Winchester lever than any other gun (save perhaps the Model 70). This gun is certainly rare in the Deluxe configuration, and with only 67,000 total Model 64’s produced from 1933 to 1956, the Winchester 64 is one of those somewhat obscure guns that every Winchester Collection needs.
