Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “MODEL 1911-A1 / CAL. 45”. The left and right rear of the slide is marked “TRP”. The left side of the frame is marked “TACTICAL”. The right side of the slide is marked “Springfield Armory” and with the Springfield Armory logo. The right side of the frame is marked “SPRINGFIELD INC / GENESEO IL USA / NM 404201”. The barrel is marked “S.A. .45 Auto”.

Sights / Optics: The pistol is mounted with a Novak style rear sight dovetailed into the slide and secured with a set screw. The sight has two white dots, one on either side of the square notch. The right side of the rear sight and the top of the front sight are marked “Trijicon / H3 15”. The front sight is a black blade with a white dot in the center of its slightly angled rear face. All three dots are visible in the dark.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are black checkered G-10. There is a relief cut in the left grip for access to the magazine release. The checkering is sharp and there are no marks in the grips that we could find. The grips rate in about Mint condition.
Type of Finish: The finish is satin stainless steel. The front strap and mainspring housing are checkered at 20 LPI.
Finish Originality: This finish is original.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99+% of its metal finish. The only marks we could find in the pistol are a few spots of extremely light wear in the tips of the checkering on the mainspring housing and a few light marks in the beveling of the magazine well. The grip screws are Allen head and the markings are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The single action pull is light with slight creep. The action works correctly. This pistol has a slew of features from the factory: an extended beavertail grip safety, a skeletonized hammer, an ambidextrous manual safety, and a beveled magazine well, in addition to the Trijicon night sights. The two piece Springfield guide rod was replaced with a single piece rod from Wilson Combat. In addition, the pistol is equipped with Springfield’s patented integral locking system (I.L.S.) located in the checkering of the mainspring housing at the rear of the grip. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a original factory dark gray plastic case with a total of three stainless steel magazines, the Mil-Spec accessories, spare parts, a black nylon bore brush, tools and paperwork. The lid of the case is marked with large “Springfield Armory” logo. It has two labels affixed to one end, one showing a UPC code description of this pistol, along with make and model, and the other the serial number of this pistol. The inside of the case has black foam inserts that are fitted to hold the accessories and the pistol. There are a few very light handling marks on the outside of the case. The foam inserts show no wear. Overall, the case is in Excellent condition. The magazines are polished stainless steel, hold 7 rounds, and have black synthetic bumper pads in lieu of a floorplate. All three magazines are in AS-NEW condition. The Mil-Spec accessories include a double magazine pouch and a clip-on paddle holster, both black synthetic. There is a light mark across the front face of the magazine pouch, which is in about Excellent condition. There are a few light marks in the bottom edge of the paddle part of the holster, which is in about Fine Plus condition. The spare parts include the factory stainless two-piece recoil spring guide rod, in Excellent condition. The bore brush is unused and in AS-NEW condition. The tools include two keys for the ILS locking system and two Allen wrenches, all of which is in Excellent condition. The paperwork consists of a factory Owner’s Manual, a Limited Warranty card, instructions for the paddle holster, a firearm’s ownership pledge card, a 1911 Loaded Coupon listing accessories available at reduced prices, a colored page with pictures of Springfield Armory’s guns and accessories, and a warning card. All are in Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: This is a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 TRP Tactical Loaded pistol in .45 A.C.P. It comes with a host of features added at the factory in addition to a Wilson Combat single piece recoil spring rod. The pistol has a satin stainless finish with 20 LPI checkering on the front strap and mainspring housing and black checkered G-10 grips. The pistol is in about Excellent condition with about 99+% of its finish remaining. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. This is a beautiful looking .45 caliber pistol that comes with is factory case, holster, double mag pouch, a total of three magazines and the original factory paperwork. This pistol is almost too pretty to take out and shoot. With its night sights, it would be great for home protection and its stainless steel frame and slide add enough weight to absorb the recoil. One thing is for sure: between the sharply checkered front strap and mainspring housing and the grip checkering, you won’t have to worry about the pistol slipping or twisting in your shooting hand. This gun is also perfect for the next combat match out at the range, and comes with extra mags with bumper pads, a holster and double magazine pouch to get you started.
