Markings: The pistols are marked as such; The left side of the slide is marked “WALTHER” in banner and “TP Cal.-22 L.R. Ulm/Do.” With eagle over “N” proof, the left side of the frame is marked with the serial number, the left of the trigger guard bow is marked with the date code (69), an Ulm antler and eagle over “N” proof. The grip panels have “WALTHER” in banner, the left panel has “WALTHER” in banner against a blue globe.

Barrel Length: 2.6”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a small fixed blade on the barrel. The rear sight is a “U” notch on top of the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are black plastic panels with flank checkering and Walther’s logo markings. The stocks on both pistols have but a few extremely light marks in the smooth portions with only a few light compression marks in the checkers; there are no cracks or major damages. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in either bore.

Overall Condition: (JC13) This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The black barrel has some small marks that look to be casting flaws, there are a few scuffs present, the slide and frame only have a few minor scuffs. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.

These pistols look to have been used infrequently with proper storage in the interim. Mechanics: The action functions correctly on both pistols. The pistols have a magazine disconnect safety and slide mounted thumb safety. The triggers have a small amount of take-up with a crisp break. We did not fire these handguns. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Each pistol comes with one black factory magazine with finger extensions, the items have light use and are in Excellent condition. JC13’s factory box is serialized to the pistol and has some scrapes on the outside from storage; the underside of the lower tray has the pistol’s information written in sharpie, the box is in Fine condition. JC14’s box has a tad more scuffing, the serialized sticker is missing, the pistol’s information is written on the underside of the lower tray, the box is in Very Good Plus condition. Both pistols have their original clear plastic bags, which are in Fine condition.

Our Assessment: According to http://unblinkingeye.com/Guns/WTP/wtp.html only 3,417 Walther TP pistols in .22 Long Rifle were produced in total, this auction is for sequentially numbered TP’s in .22 LR, in Excellent condition with one magazine each and their original factory boxes. These are ultra compact semi-automatic pistols with nice ergonomic controls and are small enough to carry in a pocket or purse. Ammunition is abundant making this a nice find for personal protection but we’re pretty sure that the collectors are going to take notice, especially in their condition.
