Our Assessment: Any pistol that we’ve seen come through that has been worked on by S&W’s Performance Center is simply breath taking. We have seen a lot of their revolvers come through but this is a real treat. The pistol has a host of features that would cost thousands of dollars if done by an independent gunsmith and the fit and finish could not be better; based on Browning’s world famous 1911 design, Smith & Wesson threw in a few of their own tell-tale profile tweaks and the outcome is great. The pistol looks to have seen minimal use and should make for a great home defense or duty carry auto. Included are 5 magazines, a Haliburton case and other goodies, making this a great opportunity for those who missed the initial release of this item. Chambered in .45 ACP, ammunition is plentiful, reliable and without a double one of the best defense cartridges on the planet. Please see our pictures and good luck.
