Choke: The barrels are threaded for WinChokes with four chokes (2 installed, 2 additional).
Sights / Optics: There is a white bead in a base at the front of the rib and a smaller white mid-bead. The top of the rib is checkered to reduce glare.
Weight: 6 lbs, 13.4 oz.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut featuring a finger-grooved forend, a semi-pistol grip, a fluted straight comb and a Winchester buttpad. The wood shows no notable wear or damage, only a few light handling and storage marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 1/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The drop at the comb is 1 1/2”. The drop at the heel is 2 1/4”. The cast is neutral. The stocks are in Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are semi-bright. There is some stubborn fouling but no erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate a 9 or 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows a few faint nicks and light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrel lockup is tight with no play to the receiver. We did not fire this firearm. We have cleaned this firearm and performed a mechanic’s check but expect many will want to clean the firearm again depending on their standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes with a black Winchester case, the aforementioned additional chokes and a choke tool.
Our Assessment: The iconic Model 101 is a shotgun with legendary styling and handling and the unquestionable reliability you expect from Winchester firearms. Much like Browning with their Citori line, Winchester found a Japanese firm which was capable of manufacturing durable, high-quality, and beautiful guns. The engraving pattern on the Kodensha-made Model 101 is even somewhat similar to that of the Miroku-made Citoris. This shotgun is a 101 Lightweight, coming in just under eight pounds. The gun features white bead sights on its 27? vent-rib barrels, coin-finished receiver engraved with game birds, and a single selective trigger. The barrels are threaded for WinChokes, so it should be a very versatile hunting or sporting gun. This example is in Excellent condition with very little sign of use. If you’re looking for a lighter thumping 20 gauge for birds of the flesh or clay variety, you won’t do much better than this. Please see our photos and good luck in your bidding!
