Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a serrated bade with a red fiber optic insert and is dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is a fully adjustable square notch Kensight target sight with a serrated rear face, it is dovetailed into the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grip is a Phoenix Trinity textured one-piece grip. There are a few light handling marks. The texturing is sharp. Overall, the grip is in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In my opinion, this bore is a 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. The barrel lug, link, slide, and slide stop are matched and electro penciled “09”. The right side ambidextrous safety has portions of bright metal, it has been ground and reprofiled. There are some scattered light marks, some have lightly thinned the finish. The markings are clear. The screwheads are serviceable and pins unmarred. Overall, the pistol is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The grip safety has been deactivated but is not pinned. The slide to frame fit has no play, but the slide moves smoothly. The single-action trigger is crisp and light. We did not fire this pistol. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The collaboration of USPSA shooter Adam Nilson, master machinist Tod West and IPSC world champion Allan Zitta led to the creation of Atlas Gun Works, one of the absolute finest makers of custom 1911 and 2011-style pistols in the world. This gun oozes quality, from the outstanding fit and finish to smaller details, like the grip texuring pattern carrying over from the frame to the replaceable side panels. It has all the features needed for flawless competition and defensive performance, and looks damn good too! This is a very early Atlas from before they were making their own parts. The pistol is built on an STI frame with a Phoenix Trinity grip frame, KKM Precision barrel, SVI Infinity trigger, and Dawson ICE magwell. This pistol is perfect for shooting USPSA Limited division and making major power factor, hell that is what it was built for. This pistol really has to be felt to be believed. Not only that, but this one doesn’t looks to have been used much, it is seriously SHARP. It’s as tight as a Les Baer, but as smooth as a Nighthawk. Whether you’re looking for a pistol for self defense, competition, or just a handgun with the finest craftsmanship available, Atlas is one of the only makers that can hold the world on their shoulders.
