Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated brass beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel and the rear sight is a semi-buckhorn with a reversible sight leaf and sliding elevator and is dovetailed into the barrel. The top of the receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled in four places for mounting an optic (not included). The left side of the receiver has two drilled, tapped, and filled holes for mounting a side-mounted optic (not included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece smooth walnut stock with a capped forearm, straight grip, straight comb, and a checkered Marlin buttplate. There is a Marlin “Bullseye” in the belly of the butt stock. The wood shows a couple of light handling marks. The bottom of the buttstock shows a minor compression. The LOP measures 13.3” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. This stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates a 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The metal shows a couple of light scuffs and scratches. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. The left side of the barrel is marked “JM”. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions Correctly. We did not fire this firearm. We have cleaned this firearm and performed a mechanic’s check but expect many will want to clean the firearm again depending on their standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle includes its original serial matching box.
Our Assessment: This rifle is a real find. Chambered in the powerful .41 Remington Magnum, it’s a fine option for SASS shooting. This lever action rifle is in Great shape, showing light use; the gun retains 99% of its metal finish and has a JM marked barrel indicating it was made prior to the purchase of Marlin by Remington. The 20” octagonal barrel gives it light weight maneuverability. The lever is smooth and the trigger is light and crisp.
