Sights / Optics: The front sight is a XS blade with a vertical white line integral to a base and screwed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is an XS ghost ring aperture sight drift adjustable for windage and screwed to the top rear of the receiver. The gun is equipped with an XS Lever Scout mounting rail and two rings supporting a Leupold VX Freedom scope with 1.5-4x magnification, extended eye relief, and a duplex reticle. The scope rates in about Fine condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The rifle is equipped with a capped black textured forearm and an aftermarket Form buttstock that features a pistol grip, adjustable comb, and a soft Microcell buttpad. There is a scratch on the left side of the forearm. The buttstock shows a few light scuffs and compressions on the sides. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 14″ & 13” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad and stock, respectively. The pad has no notable wear or damage. Overall, the stocks are in Fine condition as non-matching.

Finish Originality: Refinished
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the Ballard rifling is sharp and deep. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its current metal finish. There are some notable scratches on the sides of the receiver. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Fine-Plus condition as refinished.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The magtube has a capacity of 9 rounds of .357 Magnum and 10 rounds of .38 Special. The hammer has a half-cock safety position. The Lever safety has been deactivated and the cross bolt safety has been removed and replaced with a blank stud. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the previously mentioned scope and a TLR-1 HL Streamlight flashlight attached to the bottom of the magazine tube.
Our Assessment: This is a customized Marlin Model 1894CST chambered for both the classic .38 Special and the more powerful .357 Magnum cartridges. This rifle has been fitted with a plethora of aftermarket parts including Ranger Point lever and loading gate, a Form buttstock with an adjustable comb, Leupold VX-Freedom scope, and a tactical TLR-1 HL flashlight on the magazine tube. It is equipped with a threaded 16.5” barrel and has been refinished in a low luster blue. The rifle is in Fine-Plus condition, appearing to have seen some use but with nearly all its finish remaining and hardly any wear to the stocks. Take her on your next hunt for use with the powerful .357 or fill the tube with 10 rounds of your favorite .38s for informal target shooting. Please see our photos and good luck!
