Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a tritium lamp in the center of an orange dot that is dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is a lo mount U-shaped notch sight with a serrated rear face dovetailed into the slide. The lamp no longer glows in low light environments.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece serrated synthetic grips. There are some light handling marks, but no notable defects. The serrations are well defined. The grips rate in Excellent overall condition.
Additionally, a pair of VZ G10 gray textured grips are included. There are no notable defects and they are still in their factory packaging. These grips rate in Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates a 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are scattered light handling and storage marks but no notable defects. The screw sockets are strong. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly with a snug and smooth slide to frame fit. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be required to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included with this pistol is an Ed Brown Range bag, paperwork including the owner’s manual, a small bottle of gun oil, two 7-round Ed Brown Magazines and two Colt 8-round magazines.
Our Assessment: Ed Brown is among a small group of the best manufacturers of custom and semi-custom 1911s in the world including Wilson Combat, Nighthawk Custom and Les Baer. This pistol is an excellent example of why they have earned this reputation. With the Special Forces 1911, Ed Brown has combined the most desired upgrades, including front strap and mainspring housing chainlink treatment, an extended beavertail indexing bump grip safety, a thumb safety, a skeletonized hammer and a flat-faced trigger with their legendary craftsmanship quality. It is this type of quality that makes this an excellent target and defensive pistol with which you can trust your life! This pistol is in Excellent condition with great mechanics and a bright bore.
