Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 70 is an iconic American sporting rifle that has been a staple of hunters for more than 80 years; reliable, robust, and accurate, it is one of the benchmarks by which all bolt action rifles are measured. It has more than earned its nickname of “The Riflemans Rifle”, a true icon. This is a vintage pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 chambered in .300 H&H Magnum. It retains about 95% of its blued finish, has good mechanics, and a great bore! It is in Fine condition, having been used sparingly and upgraded with a nice Lyman scope. The quality of these vintages rifles is unmatched, the fit and finish are superb, the craftsmanship is evident and everything comes together in perfect harmony for a wonderful rifle the likes of which aren’t encountered much these days. Pre-64 Model 70s have significant collector interest, this Pre-War model will be a fantastic addition to your collection. With its vintage scope, crisp bore, and cool Magnum caliber would still make a nice hunting rifle today just as it did over 80 years ago. Please see our photos and good luck!
Some are hot, some are not, but thankfully most can be shot!
