Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a white bead at the muzzle on a full-length ventilated rib and has a bright alignment mid-bead. The rib and top of the receiver have a checkered pattern for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a capped pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and finger groove forend. There is a line of bubbled finish on the top of the wrist, NOT a crack, just a finish defect. The checkering is sharp. There is light handling wear. The LOP measures 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the black rubber Remington buttpad. The pad has some scattered wear. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There are some little spots of pinprick erosion. In my opinion, this bore is a 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is a faint hairline scratch by the serial number. There are light handling marks. The markings are clear. The pinheads are unmarred. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a Remington locking hard case, sling, and the previously described chokes.

Our Assessment: Designed by Wayne Leek and R. Kelley, the Remington Model 1100 was introduced in 1963 as a successor to the model 58 and 878 gas operated shotguns. The Model 58s had supplanted the recoil operated Model 11-48, which retained the long recoil action of John Browning’s original design, present in the Remington Model 11 and the Auto-5. All models of the 1100 are gas operated with a mechanism that noticeably reduces recoil. The Remington Model 1100 ushered in the era of successful and reliable gas-actuated autoloading shotguns, and it is the best selling autoloading shotgun in U.S. history. The Model 1100 holds a record for shells fired out of an autoloading shotgun without malfunction, cleaning or parts breakage with a record of over 24,000 rounds. The record was set in 1978 with a Remington model 1100 LT-20. Breaking this record has been attempted with several other models of semi-auto shotguns with no luck. This is their Premier Sporting variant with a nickeled receiver with scroll engraving and gold inlay. The gold inlay features to clays and a banner that reads “Remington Model 1100”. The shotgun has a 27″ vent rib 28 gauge barrel with removable Briley chokes, four come included. It is in Excellent condition and is ready to go dust some clays if you are! Please see our photos and good luck!

Some are hot, some are not, but thankfully most can be shot!
