Action Type: Single Action Revolver with Side Loading Gate Cylinder

Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “FREEDOM ARMS MODEL 97 .357 MAG / *FREEDOM, WYOMING U.S.A.*”. The left side of the frame is marked “N1326”. The rear face of the cylinder is marked “N1326”. The right side of the frame is marked “FREEDOM ARMS / PREMIER GRADE”. 

Barrel Length: 4 1/4”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated blade set on a smooth ramped base fixed to the barrel. The front sight is secured with an allen head at the front of the base. The rear sight is a wide square notch sight that is adjustable for windage and elevation and is in a base that is screwed to the top strap.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are smooth wood on a round butt Bisley grip frame. There are some scattered There are a few light marks from use and storage. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Stainless Steel

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In my opinion, this bore is a 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are light handling marks. There is a light turn line on the cylinder. The markings are clear. The screwheads aer sharp. Overall, this revolver rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: An action job has been done. The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup is solid. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial matching blue box with a test target, manual, and action job invoice.

Our Assessment: Freedom Arms makes what are probably the highest quality single-action revolvers in the world, and this single action Model 97 revolver is no exception. The action and trigger pull are exceptional. The lockup is solid with no movement. The stainless finish is very appealing to the eye as well as functional in being nearly impervious to the elements. This one is a Model 97 .357 Magnum iwth a 4 1/4″ barrel. It has some special order features that include its fluted cylnder, round butt Bisley grip frame, and an action job done by Freedom Arms. This one has hardly seen any use, for crying out loud there is still machinists marker in the stop notches! Paired with Freedom Arms’ quality, this is a really nice package for the handgun hunter, outdoorsman, or Freedom Arms fan. Please see our photos and good luck!
