Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a dovetailed globe style sight featuring an aperture reticle inside a protective hood at the muzzle end of the barrel. A orange bubble level is dovetailed to the rear sight area. There is also a Creedmor Diopter adjustable peep sight present with windage and elevation screwed to the top tang. The diopter has some light handling marks but remains in Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The stocks are two piece wood featuring a checkered forend with nose cap, checkered semi-pistol grip, and a metal buttplate. The stocks have some light handling marks. The checkering is sharp. The LOP is approximately 14.25” and 13.5” from the faces of the triggers to the back of the butt plate. The buttplate has some light handling marks. Overall, the stocks are in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is speckled light erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion and for the age, this bore rates a 9.5 out of 10.
Overall Condition: The rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some light handling marks on the metal surfaces. There is some case color recession on the lock plate. The markings remain clear. The screwheads are serviceable. Overall, the rifle is in Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Pedersoli 1874 Sharps “Long Range Rifle” is a single-shot double-set trigger rifle that takes .50-90 Sharps rounds. The rifle is a modern replica of the late 19th century hunting rifle with a modern twist. The rifle is beautifully crafted and remains mechanically sound. The rifle’s caliber is designed for buffalo and other big game hunting. It is also suitable for use in modern BPCR competitions. This is one rifle you do not want to miss out on!
