There are some scattered handling marks. The checkering is mostly sharp. Overall, the stock rates in Fine Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There are a few freckles of faint surface erosion which may prove to be stubborn fouling. In my opinion, this bore is a 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The bolt is serial matching. There is some faint finish wear on the edge of the muzzle. There are handling marks. There is some faint wear on the bolt handle. There is some standard operational wear. The makings are clear. The screwheads are sharp. Overall this rifle rates in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a leather sling and the previously described scope.

Our Assessment: The Model Seven is Remington’s attempt at a less expensive but high-quality bolt-action rifle. The main difference was the design of the receiver which is pretty much a miniaturized 700 receiver and is optimized for short action calibers. Upon picking up this rifle the quality is apparent and they certainly achieved making a high-quality rifle for a more budget-minded price, some like the Seven more than the 700! This one is chambered for .222 Remington, a nice find for the collectors, this caliber was only offered for two years! On top of that it also happens to be a first year of production example that is exceptionally clean. With its blued finish, beautiful walnut stock, and installed scope this is a good looking rifle that will be a great for your next hunt or target shooting outing. Please see our photos and good luck!

Some are hot, some are not, but thankfully most can be shot!
