Markings: The bottom of the dust cover is marked “STI INTERNATIONAL / GEORGETOWN, TX USA”. The top of the chamber is marked “9 X 19”. The right side of the frame is marked “2011” and with the serial number. The right side of the slide is marked with the STI Texas logo. The left side of the slide is marked “TACTICAL 5.0”.
Barrel Length: 5” Bull Barrel
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a red fiber optic insert, it is dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is a square notch serrated blacked-out rear dovetailed and set-screwed into the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The trigger guard and grip frame are one piece, made of high-strength synthetic material, in black, showing a stippled pattern. The stippling has only light wear. The stippling is mostly strong. There are no chips or cracks. The grips are in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion and for the age, this bore rates a 9 or 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows a tiny scratch and a bit of wear on the left front edge of the slide. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This pistol has ambidextrous thumb safeties, an adjustable trigger, crisp trigger, short reset, strong mainspring, skeletonized hammer & trigger, the grip safety has a rise to index one’s palm correctly each time. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This handgun comes with a serial-matching two-piece STI cardboard box, black faux leather carrying pouch, an instruction manual with factory handouts, a locking device with keys, some adjustment tools and one (1) 20-round magazine with intact feed lips and strong follower spring. Please note, no magazines will be included for purchasers who reside where they cannot be legally transferred.
Our Assessment: The 1911 and 1911-A1 pistols served the military of the United States from 1911 to 1985, through two World Wars and the Korean and Vietnam wars. They gained a reputation as a reliable handgun with plenty of stopping power, and are held in high regard by those who have used them. The design is one of the most beloved and has gone through many design evolutions such as modular frames like this Tactical 5.0 from STI. The Tactical 5.0 was introduced in 2004 in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP and features a red fiber optic front sight, a 2011 double stack modular grip, 5.0” bull barrel, railed frame, the recoil master system, skeletonized hammer & trigger, ambidextrous safeties, an indexing bump beavertail safety, and forward & rear slide serrations.
Fans of the 1911 platform have avidly watched the progressive evolution of the design over the decades as new ideas and improvements were added alongside tried-and-true feature favorites. Most individuals interested in STI International (later Staccato) pistols already know all this. Those unfamiliar with STI’s work usually become interested very quickly.
