Sights / Optics: The front sight is a quarter round blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square groove in the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece stag antler panels secured by a screw. The grips show natural grain lines and indentations. There are only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates a 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. The metal shows very light scattered handling and storage marks. There are very minor scratches on the top of the barrel, behind the front sight. The screw heads are sharp. The markings and engravings are deep. Overall, this pistol rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up with barely perceptible play on each chamber. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes with a Colt Historian letter confirming the original configuration. This revolver was shipped June 24th, 1993 to Armsear II in Anaheim, California in a shipment of this single gun. Also, a two-piece blue cardboard Colt box with white cardboard sleeve with serial-matching label and description, and an assortment of factory paperwork including manual.
Our Assessment: The Colt Single Action Army (SAA) is a single-action revolver that was produced by Colt’s Manufacturing Company from 1873 to 1940. However, it was reintroduced in 1955 as the 2nd Generation Colt Single Action Army, and in 1976 as the 3rd Generation Colt Single Action Army. Changes were made but the basic SAA was the same, i.e. three standard barrel lengths of 4 ¾”, 5 ½” and 7 ½”, finishes of full nickel or blue, with color case hardened frame, and grips of hard rubber.
This Colt Single Action Army, 3rd Generation in .45 Colt, has an impeccable pedigree from the Colt Custom Gun Shop which is documented via a Colt factory letter and matching serial numbers on the boxes. The letter confirms that this revolver is all original, from its Class “C” engraving to its nickel finish and stag grips. The revolver is in Excellent condition, appearing to have spent more time in its included factory box than out. This will make a great addition to even advanced collections and will certainly stand out in any firearms display.
