Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “FREEDOM ARMS MODEL 1997 45 COLT / *FREEDOM, WYOMING U.S.A.*”. The left side of the frame is marked “P1807”. The rear face of the cylinder is marked “P1807”. The right side of the frame is marked “FREEDOM ARMS / PREMIER GRADE”. The rear face of the .45 ACP cylinder is marked “45 / A” and “1807”.
Barrel Length: 3 1/2”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a gold bead and is installed on a ramped pedestal that is fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a wide “V” notch sight that is adjustable for windage and elevation, it is screwed to the topstrap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are smooth wood. There are some scattered light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is some faint surface erosion at the muzzle. There are a few areas of stubborn fouling in the bore. In my opinion, this bore is a 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are some scattered light handling marks and light draglines that are typical of a stainless finish. There is still machinists marker on in the cylinder stop cuts of each cylinder. The cylinder has a faint turn line, hardly noticeable. The screwheads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup is solid with NO play. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial matching box, paperwork including the manual, test target, and the previously described cylinder.
Our Assessment: Freedom Arms makes what are probably the highest quality single-action revolvers in the world, and this single action Model 1997 revolver is no exception. The action and trigger pull are exceptional. The lockup is solid with no movement. The classic single action lines with a hint of modernity from the stainless finish is very appealing to the eye and these revolvers shoot as good as they look! This example is a custom job with an awesome list of features, in a departure from F.A. standard practice, the .45 Colt cylinder is fluted, and it also boasts a jeweled trigger, jeweled hammer, round butt grip frame, special grips, special short barrel, adjustable sights, and is chambered for the beloved .45 ACP and a timeless .45 Colt. Paired with Freedom Arms’ quality, this is a really nice package for the revolver enthusiast or Freedom Arms fan. Please see our photos and good luck!
