Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, this bore is a 9 or 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is a faint turn line forming on the cylinder and some minor handling marks scattered throughout. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun is in Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks in each position with no play when the trigger is pressed. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes with its original factory Colt cardboard box with serial-matching label and an Allen brown soft-sided pouch.
Our Assessment: The Diamondback is essentially a shorter framed Python both in the cylinder and grip frame, sharing similar aesthetics and is no less striking than its predecessor. The model was offered in .38 Special as well as .22 Long Rifle (as this one is). This revolver retains about 98% of its finish, sporting a bright, clean bore and solid cylinder lockup with little sign of use. Those familiar with the Python line understand the accuracy these revolvers are capable of, this one should prove to be no different. This will make for a fantastic target plinker. Good luck in your bidding! J. Ren
