Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “SIG SAUER” and “XFIVE”. The right side of the slide is marked with “P226”, the serial number “71-226-009538”, “DE”, and “CIP” over “N”. The right side of the barrel visible through the ejection port is marked “P226 / 71-226-009538 / 9mm Para”, the left side is marked “CIP / N”, a proof mark, “BI” date code, “SIG SAUER”, and “DE”, the bottom has a QR code. The right side of the frame is marked with “P226 / 71-226-009538”, “DE”, “CIP” over “N”, and “MADE IN GERMANY”. The underside of the top of the slide is marked with a QR code.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a black blade dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is a square-notch pinned to the slide that is adjustable for windage and elevation.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are gray checkered laminate that wrap around the backstrap, leaving the checkered front strap exposed. The grip shows only minor handling marks, but otherwise has no notable wear or damage. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is mainly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is light erosion in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 7.5/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 96% of its finish. There is stubborn dried grease on the sides of the frame and some on the left side of the slide as well. The screws show minor tool marks with sharp slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Fine-Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included with this pistol is a serial-matching cardboard box, a black plastic Sig Sauer case, two (2) 17-round magazines, a serial-matching test-fire target, a 25g tube of Sig Sauer high definition gun grease, and two manuals.
