Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The action is mounted with a Redfield mount and Refield 3x-9x scope with clear glass and fine crosshair reticle.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is skip-line checkered highly figured walnut with rosewood nose and grip caps, pistol grip, monte-carlo comb with cheekpiece, ventilated brown Weatherby recoil pad and sling studs front and rear. The grip cap has a white diamond inlay. There are scattered small compressions and light draglines throughout. There are a few notable scuffs on the belly. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is sharp. The LOP measures 13 3/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad. The pad has minor wear and is still supple. Overall, the stock is in about Very good-Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some tiny nicks and light scratches on the blued surfaces. This rifle appears to have been well cared for and only storage marks show. There is only minor operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine overall condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The previously mentioned scope is included as well as a leather sling rating in Fine condition.

Our Assessment: This is a quality Weatherby rifle made by the Japanese firm of Howa Machinery Company. Howa has been heavily involved with the Japanese armaments industry since 1940 and was involved in manufacturing the famous Arisaka rifles of WWII. Howa makes rifles under their own name, as well as for Weatherby and Mossberg. This Mark V Deluxe rifle has a high luster blued finish with a fancy walnut skip-line checkered stock. The stock has a Monte Carlo comb, cheekpiece, rosewood grip cap and nosecap, and a soft Weatherby marked recoil pad. The rifle appears Fine with about 97% of its metal finish remaining, minor wear in the stock, the bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. Overall, the rifle rates in about Fine condition. Pick up this rifle for your next deer hunt or range plinker that is sure to wow some spectators with the beautiful wood.
