Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In my opinion, this bore is a 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are some scattered light scuffs and handling marks. There is a faint turn line. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder produces almost no play in lockup of all 8 chambers. The double action trigger pull is smooth, the single action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in a metal Performance Center case with a manual, four moonclips, a moonclip wrench, and a muzzle cap.

Our Assessment: The Model 627 was originally introduced by Smith & Wesson in 1989 as a special edition stainless version of the model 27, with a 6-shot cylinder. Production would later continue as an 8-shot Performance Center revolver. This example is one such Performance Center 627-4, a black and stainless steel 8-shot revolver with the cylinder chambered for .38 Super. This was a distributor exclusive for Bangers in 2002. It makes for a great defensive or competition revolver, with higher capacity than some semi-automatics and similar reloading speeds with moon clips. With .38 Super it will make Major for USPSA/IPSC competition and if you want to shoot Open, it is already drilled and tapped to accept an optic. It is in Excellent condition with evidence of light use but also responsible care and maintenance. The gun comes with a nice Performance Center hard case and would make a great revolver to add to any collection. Please see our pictures and good luck!

Some are hot, some are not, but thankfully most can be shot!
