Markings: The left of the slide is marked with Poseidon riding a Hippokampoi surrounded by wave motif engraving, clouds and a lightning bolt. The left of the dust cover is marked “CAUTION – CAPABLE OF FIRING / WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED” and the frame has shell and wave accents. The right of the frame is marked “SW1911 / UFD6818”, “S&W SPRINGFIELD, MA / U.S.A.” and has shell and wave accents. The top of the chamber is marked “45 AUTO”. The right side of the slide is marked with “134/200” at the rear while the center features Poseidons trident and has waves throughout. The top of the slide has scroll work and wave motif. Many of the markings are done in 24k gold and others are done in copper.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a blue diamond and is dovetailed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is S&W square notch lo-mount style sight dovetailed to the rear of the slide and further secured with a set screw.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth grips with depictions of Poseidon on both panels. There are no major defects, just light handling marks. Overall the grips are in about Excellent condition. SK customs describes these as “Pearl”, we do not know if they are real or imitation pearl.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In my opinion, this bore is a 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are a few spots of residue from the S&W factory safety sticker in the case. There are light handling marks. There are no major defects. The screw heads have sharp slots and strong sockets. The pin heads are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, it may need a thorough cleaning to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial matching case, SK Customs brochure, two magazines, paperwork including the manual, engraved 1 oz Silver round, and a pair of checkered wood grips in Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: From SK Custom’s: “SK Customs is proud to introduce “POSEIDON,” the first creation in the all-new Gods of Olympus Engraver Series. This guaranteed collector’s item will be a limited production To run of 200 and was designed in close collaboration with Master Engraver Melissa McMinn, a Firearms Engravers Guild of America (FEGA) award winner. Based on the well-known Smith & Wesson Full Size 1911 E-Series (45 ACP), this custom creation was conceived to pay homage to POSEIDON, the Greek God of the Sea, Earthquakes, and Horses. He was considered one of the most bad-tempered Olympian Gods and known for his violent anger. To immortalize some of POSEIDON’s characteristics the slide, frame and grips feature spiral scroll to represent high seas and rouge waves, while the fore and aft serrations on the slide represent fish like scales. Stunning artwork on the sides of the slide adds visual depictions of POSEIDON with the right side portraying a 24 KT Gold-plated POSEIDON riding on Hippokampoi (fish-like horses) and thunderbolts filling the sky above them while the left side prominently features Poseidon’s infamous Trident plated in 24 KT Gold which legend says he used to control the sea and land. The most eye-catching feature of the slide is a proprietary conversion coating that results in a highly reflective Aqua Marine background in the engraved areas behind the selectively gold-plated artwork, which seems to shimmer off the overall stainless satin finish. To tie the whole design together, Aqua Marine colored Greek key meander and other art adorn the Pearl grips and select hardware has been plated in 24kt Gold and Nickel creating a stunning overall look. Rounding out this creation is the addition of new Novak front sights with a strikingly authentic center set Blue Diamond further embodying grandeur of POSEIDON as the Greek God of the Sea. When purchasing the Gods of Olympus POSEIDON, collectors will receive a special issued commemorative 1-oz high relief silver coin that features the observe marks of the Bank of Greece in Athens, the year of production and a profile of the Goddess Athena on one side. The flip side showcases POSEIDON aiming his Trident while riding Pegasus, and Arian, his immortal horses. Each coin comes in a protective coin case which is set inside an elegant black velvet coin box labeled in Silver with the “God of Olympus -POSEIDON””. This pistol’s high polish finish, diamond studded front sight, Greek God inspired designs on the slide and grips as well as the limited production of only 200 of the Poseidon pistols makes for a wonderful addition to any collection.
