Our Assessment: The Montana Rifle Company manufactured three different series of bolt action rifles, featuring its Model 1999 action, which is a hybrid between the Model 70 and the Mauser 98. This action utilized a clone Model 70 trigger and three-position safety, but also incorporated the Mauser 98 breeching system with the C-ring and large claw extractor, the action is noted for being top-notch quality and very strong. The company was formed in 1999 by gunsmith Keith Sipe who had a desire to produce high-quality controlled feed action rifles. This is the Seven Continents Rifle Stainless Steel, or SCR-SS, and has a free floated button rifled 24? barrel chambered for .416 Rigby, and a composite stock. The company is not making guns at the moment as they restructure and seek investors, so this might be your last chance to get one of these high-quality rifles in such good condition. Please see our photos and good luck!
Some are hot, some are not, but thankfully most can be shot!
