Markings: The left side of the top barrel is marked “WINCHESTER -20 GAUGE- 2 3/4” & 3″ / NEW HAVEN CONN. – U.S.A.” above the forend. Below the forend, the left of the top barrel is marked “MOD***”, the bottom “IMP CYLD****” and each has a Winchester proof. The top of the rib is marked “PIGEON GRADE”. The right side of the barrel is marked “MADE IN JAPAN”. The bottom of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL”. The barrel lug is marked “260534 / 20-3”. The silver receiver is deluxe scroll engraved. There is a pigeon and “WINCHESTER” on the bottom of the receiver. The top tang is marked “PK260534″. The forend hardware is marked “260534” and the inside wood is stamped “0534”.

Sights / Optics: There is a white bead in a base at the front of the rib. The rib is finely checkered for glare reduction.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with semi-beavertail forend, pistol grip, straight comb and serrated black plastic buttplate. The forend shows only light handling marks. The stocks have only a few scattered minor marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. LOP measures 14″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has some residue in the serrations, otherwise showing only minor wear. Drop at comb is approximately 1 1/2″, drop at heel 2 1/2″. The cast is about neutral. Overall, the stocks are in Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate a 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The barrels have minor wear from the forend, concealed when assembled. The action shows minor operational wear. The forend latch plate has some tiny spots of minor oxidation. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The barrels lock up with no play. The safety does not return to safe when the action is opened, but functions properly when engaged manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The iconic Model 101 Pigeon Grade is a shotgun with legendary styling and handling and the unquestionable reliability you expect from Winchester firearms. The Pigeon Grade features detailed engraving, coin finished receiver, and wood stocks with beautiful grain. This shotgun features a white bead sight, jeweled ejectors and a single selective trigger. This example is in Fine-plus condition with evidence of light and responsible use. With 26″ barrels choked Modified over Improved Cylinder, this will make a fine upland bird gun and should be a nice shotgun for the skeet fields as well. Please see our photos and good luck!
