The stocks have minor handling wear with some scattered minor nicks and scuffs. There are a few more notable dings, most notable at the heel on the left. There is a spot of notable wear in the top-front of the wrist to the left of the top tang. The checkering shows minor handling wear, but there are a few damaged checkers in the right of the wrist below the palm-swell. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The drop at the front of the comb is about 1 3/8″ drop at the rear of the comb 1 1/2″, and drop at heel is about 2″. The drops are consistent across all barrel sets. The buttpad has scattered light wear with some more notable marks on the heel cap. The stocks rate in Very Good-Fine overall condition.

Type of Finish: Blue & Gray

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This shotgun set retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few scattered minor scratches and one more notable nick on the top of the receiver around the lever. Each barrel set has minor wear from the forend being installed/removed with the exception of the .410 barrel set which has no notable wear or damage. The action has minor operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun set rates in Fine-plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. It has a single selective mechanically operated trigger. The safety does not engage automatically when the action is opened, but functions properly when engaged manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a Blaser combination-lock hard-sided case with the additional barrel sets as described. There are tools included for adjustment of the comb. Each choke set comes in a Blaser branded plastic case with a Blaser branded choke-wrench for each. Multiple sets of Hi-Viz sight inserts are included as well as carry cases for the inserts. In addition to the installed weights noted in the Weight section above and the weights included for the .410 barrel set noted above, there are four 1.5 oz. weights and wrenches (no mounting screws).

Our Assessment: Founded in 1957, Blaser is an uncompromising maker of premium sporting firearms. While they certainly do produce a number of elaborately engraved, super-premium stocked and otherwise opulent presentation pieces, the same attention to detail is given to the development of designs which are robust and simple, yet somehow innovative and elegant. From rifles to shotguns and even combination guns, Blaser has made a place for itself by providing hunting guns that will last for generations.

The F3 is just one such example. An over-under shotgun, it has simple but classic lines, beautiful walnut stocks, and the immense quality that you can expect from Blaser. This example is the Competition Sporting Standard, though it comes with a non-standard set of barrels. With 12, 20, 28 gauge and .410 barrel sets included, not to mention a set of chokes for each, this set is able to do just about anything you could ask for a shotgun, and it’ll keep doing it for longer than you’re likely to need it. With a wild array of sight inserts, chokes and weights, not to mention the four chamberings, you can set this gun up however you’d like, even if you’re prone to changing your mind!

In Fine-plus condition, the gun shows little sign of use. Whether you’re looking to get into sporting clays, skeet or drop just about any bird on the planet, this is one gun that can do it all. Please see our photos and good luck!
