Our Assessment: This Model 98 Carbine was made by Radom in 1929. It is similar to the German 98AZ Carbine with the only real difference being the stacking rod. Notably, this rifle has been converted with a kit to fire .22 rounds, most likely .22 LR. This makes this otherwise ubiquitous rifle rather rare, as the kits used to make this change are themselves rather rare. The markings have remained strong and are easily read. The bore is decent and the mechanics are solid, this will be a fun rifle to shoot at the range. Please see our photos and good luck!
