Markings: The right side of the receiver is marked “BAT Machine Co Inc / Rathdrum ID SB34”. The left side of the chamber is marked “.308 WIN”.

Sights / Optics: There are no sights installed. The barrel is cut to accept a Palma-style front sight. The top of the receiver is installed with a one-piece rail. The left side of the receiver has four drilled, tapped, and filled holes and the left side of the rail has drilled and tapped holes for mounting sights.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one-piece smooth walnut with a contoured pistol grip for a right-handed shooter, ventilated forend, an inlaid accessory rail, adjustable comb, cheekpiece, and adjustable buttpad. There are a few minor draglines and compressions. The LOP measures 13 5/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad as configured. When collapsed the LOP is approximately 13″. The pad has moderate wear. Overall, the stock is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are a few littel dings on the edges of the receiver and the receiver also has a couple hairline scratches. There are some minor scuffs and draglines on the surfaces in addition to light handling and standard operational marks. The markings are strong. The screw heads have strong sockets. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The trigger is light and crisp. The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This is a Jim Cloward custom Palma rifle built on a BAT Machine Co. Inc. single shot bolt action. The rifle is setup with a 30″ .308 Winchester barrel and is set in a custom walnut stock by Jim Cloward. Jim Cloward is known for building accurate rifles and beautiful stocks, the stock lives up to his reputation…we just wish we were able to see if the accuracy of this rifle does too. This one has hardly any wear and just needs a set of nice target sights. Please see our photos and good luck!
