Our Assessment: The S&W Model 625 is a gun with an interesting, if confusing, history. There was never a 625 no dash, nor have any 625-1s been seen with the first revolvers being model 625-2. These early production guns have been seen marked both “Model of 1989”, as this one is, and “Model of 1988”. This example is a 625-6 Mountain Gun, an N-Frame revolver with a lightweight 4″ barrel, chambered for .45 Colt. Able to share ammunition with many lever action rifles chambered for the same cartridge, this is a great revolver to add to a collection which is already shooting this classic pistol caliber. The gun is in about Excellent condition with about 97% of its stainless finish, a great bore, sweet trigger pulls, and strong mechanics. Please see our photos and good luck!
