Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “No 2 MK I* / BROWNING–F.N. 9MM H.P.” and “INGLIS, CANADA”. The right of the barrel, slide and frame are each marked “1T5623”. The right of the slide and frame have “AF” markings. The left side of the hammer is marked “D”. There are faint crossed-flag and broad arrow markings on the right side of the slide and frame. The left of the barrel has a crossed flag marking.

Barrel Length: 4 5/8”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated, tapered blade dovetailed to a boss at the front of the slide. The rear sight is a square notch integral to a rise at the rear of the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered black synthetic panels. The left panel is relieved for the lanyard ring. The grips show scattered nicks, scuffs and scratches along the smooth borders. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Very Good condition.

Finish Originality: Arsenal Refurbished

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is some light fouling near the throat.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 94% of its current metal finish. The finish has slightly thinned at some edges. There are some scattered light nicks and scratches, some are on the surface and some are under the finish. There is light operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings range from clear to worn and incomplete. Overall, this pistol is in about Fine condition as refurbished.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. It has a frame mounted safety and the round hammer has a half cock safety position. This pistol still has a functioning magazine disconnect and the trigger pull is crisp. The slide has light play on the frame. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a Navy Arms import box with one 13-round magazine and a manual.

Our Assessment: The No. 2 Mk. I* was primarily manufactured for the Canadian and British military. The ejector is slightly higher than the Mk. I, resulting in improved ejections. This pistol retains about 94% of its current metal finish. Please see our photos and good luck!
