Our Assessment: Introduced as an off-the-shelf target pistol, Colt’s Gold Cup National Match 1911s have been a benchmark standard of quality for decades. There have been some variations since their introduction in the late ’50s, the Series ’70 introduced a collet barrel bushing, series ’80 a firing pin safety, and newer models offered various combinations of features, grips and sights. This is one of the later Series ’80 Gold Cup National Match pistols with a firing pin safety and bright stainless steel construction. This one is an Officers Match, a set by Colt that was limited to 350 units. The pistol has a limited edition roll mark on the slide and has a 5? Gold Cup National Match slide assembly and an Officers ACP slide assembly, both are serial matched and it even comes with a serial matching carry case. The pistol is in Excellent condition, showing signs of little or no use since it was made. With its limited production numbers, high condition, and included accessories, this pistol is destined for a Colt collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
