Our Assessment: This is a scarce Model 1908 Mannlicher Schoenauer Carbine that was made by Steyr. Page 1017 of the, Blue Book of Gun Values, 26th Edition, lists this rifle as only being offered in 8×56 MS. The rifle looks impressive for being over 100 years old. It has a spoon bolt handle, internal rotary magazine, double set triggers, 2 leaf rear sight, hand checkering and deep crisp markings on the metal. This is a nice rifle to add to your collection or take out in the field. Good luck.
