Markings: The left of the chamber is marked “USE ONLY / 300 WBY MAG.”. The left of the receiver is marked “MARK V”, “Weatherby / PASO ROBLES, CA”, and “MADE IN U.S.A.”. The underside of the bolt handle is hand inscribed “8870”. The right front of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The bottom of the trigger guard is marked “W” in gold-tone color fill.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. Equipped to the top of the receiver via a two-piece leupold rail system and two rings is a Leupold VX-3 scope with 3.5-10x magnification and a Duplex reticle. The scope shows no significant wear or damage and rates in about Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is checkered walnut with rosewood nose and grip caps, pistol grip, monte-carlo comb with cheekpiece, solid brown rubber Decelerator recoil pad and sling swivels front and rear with an attached Butler Creek black canvas sling. There is a tan diamond inlay in the bottom of the grip. The imperfections are minimal and include a small scuff on the peak of the comb, a couple of small compressions on the cheek piece, a small dragline on the right side of the forend ahead of the checkering, and a faint scuff on the left in the same area. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is sharp. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad. The pad has minor wear and is still supple. Overall, the stock is in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is light handling and operational wear but no significant imperfections. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a quality Weatherby rifle made right here in the U.S.A. This Mark V Deluxe rifle has a high luster blued finish with a fancy checkered walnut stock. The stock has a Monte Carlo comb, cheekpiece, rosewood grip cap and nose cap, and a soft Decelerator marked recoil pad. The Magna Ported 26” barrel is chambered for the .300 Weatherby Magnum cartridge and has a bright bore. The .300 Weatherby is commonly used by big-game hunters all over the world. It will do very well at touching targets out at distance, no matter if they are game animals or steel targets. The rifle is in Excellent with about 99% of its metal finish remaining, minor wear in the stock, the bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. Please see our photos and good luck!
